The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Northeast Texas Community College (or similar programs) is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career as a professional nurse. This program typically leads to an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) and equips graduates with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide safe and effective patient care in a variety of healthcare settings. The curriculum combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experiences, allowing students to apply theoretical concepts in real-world situations. Students will learn to assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, educate patients and families, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals. A strong emphasis is placed on ethical practice, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. Successful completion of the program makes graduates eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN), the licensing exam required to practice as an RN.
