An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program, commonly referred to as a Registered Nursing (RN) program, is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and clinical experience necessary to become competent and compassionate entry-level registered nurses. These programs typically involve a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and clinical rotations. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-newborn nursing, pediatric nursing, and mental health nursing. Students learn to assess patients, develop care plans, administer medications, perform procedures, and educate patients and families. A significant portion of the program is dedicated to clinical experience, providing students with hands-on opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world healthcare settings. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), which is required to become a licensed registered nurse. The ultimate goal of the program is to prepare graduates to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care in a variety of healthcare settings.
