The Registered Nursing (RN) program at South Piedmont Community College, leading to an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), prepares students for a rewarding career as a registered nurse. This rigorous program combines classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and extensive clinical experiences to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide safe and effective patient care. The curriculum covers a wide range of nursing topics, from foundational sciences to advanced medical-surgical concepts. Students will learn to assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families. A key focus is on developing critical thinking and clinical judgment, enabling graduates to make informed decisions in complex healthcare situations. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and, upon passing, become licensed Registered Nurses, ready to contribute to the health and well-being of individuals and communities.
