The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Genesee Community College, typically an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), is designed to prepare students for entry-level practice as registered nurses. The program provides a strong foundation in nursing theory and clinical practice, equipping graduates with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care. Students will learn to assess patients’ health needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families. A significant portion of the program is dedicated to hands-on clinical experience in a variety of healthcare settings, allowing students to apply their classroom learning to real-world situations. The program culminates in eligibility to take the NCLEX-RN examination. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the NCLEX-RN, graduates are eligible to practice as registered nurses, contributing to the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
