The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Saint Johns University, like many other RN programs, aims to provide students with a solid foundation in the art and science of nursing. The program is designed to prepare graduates for entry-level positions as registered nurses in a variety of healthcare settings. Students will learn to assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and their families. A core component of the RN program is hands-on clinical experience, allowing students to apply classroom knowledge under the supervision of experienced nurses. Students will participate in rotations across different specialties and healthcare settings. The program also emphasizes the importance of critical thinking, communication, and collaboration within interprofessional teams. Graduates of the RN program will be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination and, upon passing, to practice as licensed registered nurses.
