A Registered Nursing (RN) program, such as an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), is designed to prepare students for entry-level practice as registered nurses. The program typically spans two years and encompasses a blend of classroom instruction, laboratory simulations, and supervised clinical experiences. The curriculum covers foundational sciences like anatomy, physiology, microbiology, and chemistry, followed by specialized nursing coursework in areas such as medical-surgical nursing, maternal-newborn nursing, pediatric nursing, mental health nursing, and community health nursing. Students learn essential nursing skills, including medication administration, wound care, vital sign monitoring, and patient assessment. A key focus is on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills to provide safe and effective patient care. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), and successful completion of the exam leads to licensure as a Registered Nurse.
