The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Central Arizona College, like other ADN or ASN programs, aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and professional values necessary to provide safe and effective nursing care to diverse populations across the lifespan. This program combines classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and clinical experiences to prepare graduates for entry-level registered nursing positions. Students learn to assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, educate patients and families, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals. A strong emphasis is placed on critical thinking, communication, and ethical decision-making. Successful completion of the program typically leads to an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) and eligibility to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Passing the NCLEX-RN is required to become a licensed Registered Nurse. The program prepares graduates to work in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and community health settings.
