An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, often referred to as an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program, is a two-year program designed to prepare individuals to become Registered Nurses (RNs). The curriculum combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience, providing students with a solid foundation in nursing theory and practice. Students learn essential nursing skills, including patient assessment, medication administration, wound care, and electronic health record documentation. Clinical rotations take place in various healthcare settings, allowing students to apply their knowledge and skills under the supervision of experienced RNs. The primary goal of an RN program is to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and professional attributes necessary to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care to patients across the lifespan. Successful completion of the program makes graduates eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination, upon passing which they are licensed as Registered Nurses and can begin their careers in a variety of healthcare roles.
