The Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), also sometimes referred to as Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), is a two-year program designed to prepare individuals for a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse (RN). This program combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience, providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver safe and effective patient care. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-newborn nursing, pediatric nursing, and mental health nursing. Students gain practical experience through clinical rotations in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. A primary goal of the ADN program is to equip graduates with the competencies required to pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and become licensed RNs. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the NCLEX-RN, graduates are prepared to provide direct patient care, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the overall well-being of individuals and communities.
