The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Central Penn College, like most ADN or ASN programs, is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to excel as entry-level registered nurses. The program’s core focus is on preparing students to provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care to diverse patient populations across the lifespan. The curriculum integrates theoretical coursework with hands-on clinical experiences, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world healthcare settings. Students gain expertise in areas such as medical-surgical nursing, maternal-newborn care, pediatrics, mental health nursing, and community health nursing. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), which is required for RN licensure. The overarching goal of the program is to produce competent, ethical, and caring nurses who are prepared to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the community and advance in their nursing careers.
