The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Wayne County Schools Career Center is designed to prepare students to become competent and compassionate entry-level nurses. The program typically spans two years and combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experiences. Students will learn the fundamentals of nursing practice, including patient assessment, medication administration, wound care, and disease management. A significant portion of the curriculum focuses on providing safe and effective care to patients across the lifespan and with a variety of health conditions. Clinical rotations provide students with valuable opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world healthcare settings under the supervision of experienced nurses and instructors. The program emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills, preparing graduates to work effectively as part of an interprofessional healthcare team. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination. Passing the NCLEX-RN leads to licensure as a Registered Nurse, opening doors to a wide range of career opportunities in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings.
