The Registered Nursing (RN) program at O C Collins Career Center, like most Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) programs, is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide safe and effective patient care as entry-level registered nurses. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experiences to create a well-rounded educational foundation. Students learn fundamental nursing concepts, including patient assessment, medication administration, wound care, and disease management. A significant portion of the program is dedicated to clinical rotations, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world healthcare settings under the supervision of experienced nurses and instructors. The ultimate goal of the RN program is to prepare graduates to successfully pass the NCLEX-RN exam and become licensed registered nurses, ready to contribute to the healthcare profession and improve the lives of patients in their communities. Graduates are prepared to provide direct patient care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
