The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Sampson Community College, like similar Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) programs, provides students with the foundational knowledge, skills, and clinical experience necessary to become competent and compassionate registered nurses. This program aims to prepare graduates to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care across the lifespan and in a variety of healthcare settings. Students will learn essential nursing concepts, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. The program incorporates both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical rotations, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations. A major goal of the RN program is to prepare graduates to successfully pass the NCLEX-RN licensure exam and enter the nursing profession with confidence and competence. Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX-RN and, upon passing, become licensed Registered Nurses.
