University of New Mexico-Taos Campus Nursing Programs in Taos, New Mexico

The Registered Nursing (RN) program at UNM-Taos, or a similar ADN/ASN program at other institutions, is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career as a registered nurse. The program provides a solid foundation in the art and science of nursing, encompassing a broad range of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Students will learn to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in various healthcare settings. A key emphasis is placed on critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication, ensuring graduates are well-equipped to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
