An Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program, typical for an RN program, is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as Registered Nurses. The program typically spans two years and combines classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and extensive clinical experiences. Students learn fundamental nursing concepts, including patient assessment, medication administration, wound care, and disease management. The curriculum encompasses various nursing specialties, such as medical-surgical, maternal-newborn, pediatrics, and mental health nursing. A primary goal of the RN program is to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. Furthermore, the program is structured to adequately prepare students to successfully pass the NCLEX-RN examination, the national licensing exam for Registered Nurses. Successful completion of the program and passing the NCLEX-RN allows graduates to apply for licensure and begin practicing as Registered Nurses.
