The Registered Nursing (RN) program, typically an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN), at Minneapolis Community and Technical College is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career as registered nurses. This rigorous program combines classroom instruction with extensive clinical experiences in a variety of healthcare settings. Students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills necessary to provide safe and effective patient care. The curriculum covers a broad range of nursing topics, including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, mental health nursing, maternal-newborn nursing, and pediatrics. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice and patient-centered care. The program culminates in eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), upon successful completion of which, graduates become licensed Registered Nurses.
