The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Itasca Community College is designed to prepare students for entry-level practice as registered nurses. This rigorous program provides a strong foundation in the biological, social, and behavioral sciences, as well as the principles and practices of nursing. Students will learn to assess patient needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, administer medications, and educate patients and families. A significant portion of the program is dedicated to clinical experiences, where students will work under the supervision of experienced nurses in a variety of healthcare settings. Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, enabling graduates to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. The ultimate goal of the RN program is to prepare graduates to successfully pass the NCLEX-RN examination and embark on a fulfilling and impactful career as a Registered Nurse.
