A Registered Nursing (RN) program, such as an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), prepares students to become entry-level registered nurses. These programs typically span two years and provide a foundation in nursing theory, science, and clinical practice. The primary goal is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients across the lifespan and in various healthcare settings. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-child health, mental health, and community health. A significant portion of the program is dedicated to clinical experience, allowing students to apply their knowledge under the supervision of experienced nurses. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and, upon passing, become licensed registered nurses.
