Maysville Community and Technical College (MCTC) plays a crucial role in training nurses for the Kentucky workforce. A cornerstone of their offerings is the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program, designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the NCLEX-RN exam and become Registered Nurses. Complementing the ADN is the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program, a more focused curriculum preparing graduates for essential direct patient care responsibilities. While the term LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse) isn’t generally used in Kentucky, the LPN program at MCTC serves a similar purpose. Graduates of these programs find employment in a variety of healthcare settings, ranging from hospitals and clinics to long-term care facilities and home health agencies. Furthermore, MCTC often has articulation agreements in place, allowing ADN graduates to easily transfer credits to a four-year university to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, further enhancing their career prospects and expanding their nursing knowledge.
