The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Northwestern Connecticut Community College is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career as a registered nurse. This program typically culminates in an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), providing graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. The curriculum encompasses a broad range of subjects, including anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, mental health nursing, and maternal-child nursing. A significant component of the program is dedicated to clinical practice, providing students with hands-on experience in real-world healthcare settings under the supervision of experienced nurses. Graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination, and upon successful completion, become licensed registered nurses. The goal of the program is to produce competent, ethical, and culturally sensitive nurses who are prepared to meet the diverse healthcare needs of the community.
