A Registered Nursing (RN) program, such as an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), prepares students for a rewarding career as a registered nurse. These programs typically span two to three years and provide a blend of classroom instruction, laboratory simulations, and clinical experiences. The primary goal is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide safe, competent, and compassionate care to individuals, families, and communities across the lifespan. Students learn about anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-newborn care, pediatrics, mental health, and community health. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, problem-solving, and evidence-based practice. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN), which is required to become a licensed registered nurse.
