A Registered Nursing (RN) program, such as an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), prepares students for entry-level practice as registered nurses. These programs typically span two years and provide a blend of classroom instruction, laboratory simulations, and hands-on clinical experiences. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-newborn care, pediatrics, and mental health nursing. Students learn to assess patients, develop nursing care plans, administer medications, perform nursing procedures, and educate patients and their families. A significant focus is placed on developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ultimate goal of the RN program is to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to individuals, families, and communities. Upon completion of the program, graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN examination, and upon passing, become licensed registered nurses.
