The Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program at Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas prepares students for a rewarding career as a Registered Nurse (RN). This program provides a comprehensive foundation in nursing theory and clinical practice, equipping graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients across the lifespan. Students learn essential nursing skills, including assessment, medication administration, wound care, and patient education. A significant portion of the program involves hands-on clinical experiences in various healthcare settings, allowing students to apply their knowledge under the supervision of experienced nurses and faculty. The program’s curriculum is designed to meet the requirements for the NCLEX-RN licensure examination, the national exam required for RN licensure. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the NCLEX-RN, graduates are eligible to work as Registered Nurses in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings. The ultimate goal of the RN program is to prepare competent and caring nurses who are committed to providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the health and well-being of their communities.
