A Registered Nursing (RN) program, such as an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), is designed to prepare students for entry-level practice as registered nurses. The program typically consists of classroom instruction, laboratory simulations, and supervised clinical experiences. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including anatomy and physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-child nursing, mental health nursing, and geriatrics. Students learn to assess patient needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, administer medications, perform treatments, and educate patients and their families. A key goal of the program is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care to individuals, families, and communities across the lifespan. The program also prepares graduates to successfully pass the NCLEX-RN examination, which is required for licensure as a registered nurse.
