The Registered Nursing (RN) program at Central Alabama Community College (CACC), or a program like it, is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to provide safe and effective nursing care to individuals, families, and communities across the lifespan. This program is an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program and combines classroom instruction, laboratory practice, and clinical experiences to provide a well-rounded nursing education. Students will learn fundamental nursing concepts, principles of patient care, and the application of evidence-based practices. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and ethical decision-making, preparing graduates to function as competent and compassionate registered nurses. A primary goal is to prepare students to successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse, enabling them to pursue rewarding careers in the healthcare field. This program prepares graduates to provide direct patient care and function as active members of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
